Commune police salary from July 1st

The Lao Dong Legal Consulting Office said: According to the 2018 Law on People's Police, the title of Head of Commune, Ward, and Town Police has the highest military rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Therefore, the salary level of commune police is determined according to military ranks from non-commissioned officer rank to Lieutenant Colonel rank according to the salary coefficient specified in the salary scale of military ranks of officers of the People's Army; officers and non-commissioned officers of the People's Police issued together with Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP.

The salary of commune police officers is calculated as follows: Salary = Salary coefficient x Base salary.

From July 1, 2026, the base salary is 2,530,000 VND/month.

Therefore, from July 1, 2026, the salary of commune police officers is applied according to the table below:

Based on Decision No. 759/QD-TTg and Decisions of the Minister of Public Security issued on June 22, 2025 on rearranging the provincial-level police with 23 new focal points (corresponding to the new administrative boundaries) and reorganizing the commune-level police system, then:

Currently, the number of commune police chiefs in each commune is 1 comrade, belonging to the rank of public security officer and under the direct command and management of the Director of the provincial-level police.

Each commune is arranged from 1-2 deputy commune police chiefs depending on the complexity and key points of the area.
