Mobilizing the Candle lit ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs at Truong Son Cemetery

On the evening of July 26, at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Quang Tri province organized a candle-burning ceremony to pay tribute to national-level heroic martyrs, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1945 - July 27, 2025).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and offered incense at the ceremony, along with leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, Quang Tri province, representatives of families of meritorious people and a large number of union members and children.

Truong Son National Cemetery is the resting place of more than 10,000 martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the Ho Chi Minh trail during the resistance war against the US to save the country.

The candle burning ceremony took place solemnly and emotionally, an opportunity for today's generation to remember and express gratitude to the outstanding children who died for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

At the ceremony, delegates respectfully offered flowers, incense, and observed a minute of silence to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs. Thousands of gratitude candles were lit in each martyrs' grave, demonstrating the morality of "remembering the source when drinking water", "repaying gratitude" of today's youth.

At the same time, at martyrs cemeteries and memorial sites across the country, union members and youth also simultaneously held a candle-raising ceremony, creating a sacred and meaningful image of humanity.

Within the framework of the program, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented 80 gifts of gratitude to families of people with revolutionary contributions in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and the generations of ancestors who sacrificed for the Fatherland. The Prime Minister emphasized that the Party, State and people always remember the great contributions of those with meritorious services. In recent years, many policies have been issued to care for the material and spiritual lives of war invalids, martyrs, and people with meritorious services. Including a housing support program, identifying martyrs' remains using DNA technology and annual gratitude activities.

The Prime Minister emphasized that today's generation must continue to strive to build a country of rapid and sustainable development, fully implementing policies for meritorious people, to be worthy of the great sacrifice of the heroic martyrs.

The annual gratitude candle lighting ceremony is a meaningful activity, not only demonstrating national morality but also contributing to educating revolutionary traditions, arousing the pride and responsibility of the young generation for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
