Vietnam - China agree to establish a Railway Cooperation Committee
Vietnam - China agreed to establish a Railway Cooperation Committee between the two Governments to promote railway cooperation.
On the afternoon of April 14, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, right after the official welcoming ceremony, General Secretary To Lam held talks with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
According to VNA, at the meeting, the two sides agreed that the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries has had many remarkable developments in the direction of "6 more".
The two sides agreed to maintain regular high-level exchanges, upgrade the Strategic Dialogue mechanism between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs - National Defense - Public Security to the Minister level; strengthen substantive cooperation in various fields, establish a Railway Cooperation Committee between the two Governments to promote railway cooperation; organize well the activities of the "China - Vietnam Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025", strengthen the social foundation; coordinate with multilateral sides more closely; control and resolve disagreements appropriately.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides regularly maintain strategic exchanges, enhance cooperation between the two Parties and in key areas, often in diplomacy, defense and security; promote strategic transport infrastructure connectivity, provide the best incentives for preferential loans, technology transfer and human resource training, and make the highest efforts in implementation to ensure the progress of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides promote digital transformation cooperation, science and technology to become a new "bright spot" in Vietnam-China relations, strengthen cooperation in the field of key technology; promote more balanced trade, higher quality investment, focus on implementing in Vietnam large, typical projects and works, supporting Hanoi and major cities to solve the problem of air pollution.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping suggested that the two sides persistently deepen strategic trust, deepen the exchange of experiences in country management, enrich socialist theory and practice, firmly promote the socialist cause of the two countries; effectively implement the cooperation in connecting the "Ring and Road" Initiative with the "Two Corridors, One Ring" framework;
Welcoming more and more Vietnamese goods to be exported to the Chinese market, encouraging more and more Chinese enterprises to invest in Vietnam; strengthening cooperation in the production and supply chains, expanding cooperation in high-tech fields such as 5G, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, semiconductor chips, green development, turning scientific and technological creativity into substantial productive power;
Implement rich and diverse humanitarian exchanges, organize friendly exchanges, and better tell the story of friendship between the people of the two countries. In the next 3 years, China will invite Vietnamese youth to participate in the Red Journey to study the revolutionary history of the two countries.
After the talks, the two General Secretaries reviewed and listened to an introduction to 45 cooperation agreements in many fields signed between departments, ministries, branches and localities of the two countries, demonstrating the rich and comprehensive achievements that the two sides achieved during this visit.
On the same evening, General Secretary To Lam and Politburo member and President Luong Cuong held a solemn reception to welcome General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping on a state visit to Vietnam.
