Vietnam fires 21 cannons to welcome General Secretary and President Xi Jinping
On the afternoon of April 14, the welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to visit Vietnam at the state level was solemnly held at the Presidential Palace.

The convoy carrying General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and the high-ranking Chinese delegation entered the Presidential Palace at around 4 p.m. General Secretary To Lam warmly welcomed the Chinese leader at the bus stop.

During the welcoming ceremony, General Secretary To Lam invited General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to walk on the red carpet towards the podium of honor. The military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and China.



From the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, 21 rows of congratulations resounded one after another. This is the most solemn ceremony to welcome the head of state. The image of the grand fireworks display from the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long was broadcast live to the welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace through 2 large LED screens.

After that, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping left the podium of honor, approving the Honor Guard of the Vietnam People's Army.
Next, the two leaders introduced the members of the high-ranking delegations of the two countries to attend the welcoming ceremony and then returned to the podium to witness the welcoming parade.
Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping walked from the Presidential Palace to the Party Central Committee Headquarters for talks.
Outside the Presidential Palace, a large crowd holding flags and flowers warmly welcomed the two leaders.


General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Vietnam on April 14-15, at the invitation of General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong.
At noon on April 14, President Luong Cuong went to Noi Bai International Airport to welcome General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and the high-ranking Chinese delegation.
Accompanying General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and the Chinese delegation at the airport were comrades: Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee; Nguyen Minh Vu, member emer emerging member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Pham Thanh Binh, Vietnamese Ambassador to China.
This is Comrade Xi Jinping's 4th state visit to Vietnam as General Secretary and President of China; even more special as this is the second visit of the Chinese leader to Vietnam during the same term.

The visit took place in the context of 2025 being a special year, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (18.1.1950 - 18.1.2025).
This visit contributes to promoting and deepening the framework of the Vietnam - China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, the Vietnam - China Community of Shared Future has strategic significance, bringing the development of the two countries to a new height.
