China is ready to promote 3 railway lines connecting with Vietnam
China is ready to work with Vietnam to promote cooperation in transport infrastructure, especially the three railway lines connecting the two countries.
On April 15, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong held talks with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam consistently consider the consolidation and development of friendly and cooperative relations with China as an objective requirement, a strategic choice and a top priority in the overall foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations.
General Secretary and President Xi Jinping said that this year is the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, also the Year of China - Vietnam Humanitarian Exchange. Over the past 75 years, the framework of the relationship between the two countries has been transformed from traditional friendship, comradeship has become a joint effort to build a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, creating a model of friendship, mutual support and solidarity.

Appreciating the rich results and important common perceptions reached at the talks and meetings between General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and key leaders of Vietnam, President Luong Cuong made a number of proposals and major directions for cooperation between the two countries in the coming time:
First, maintain regular high-level exchanges to increase trust, share experiences in national governance and development, and effectively promote cooperation mechanisms on the channels of the Party, Government, National Assembly/People, and the Fatherland Front/Both sides.
Second, enhance substantive cooperation in all fields, focusing on making science and technology cooperation a new pillar, a new driving force, and a new bright spot for bilateral cooperation.
Third, effectively implement the Vietnam - China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025, enhance people-to-people friendship exchanges to strengthen the social foundation for bilateral relations.
Fourth, increase exchanges and coordination at international and regional forums of which both sides are members, support each other to enhance their roles and positions in the international arena.
Fifth, properly control and resolve disagreements at sea on the basis of compliance with high-level common perceptions, in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), maintaining a peaceful and stable environment in the East Sea and in the region.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping highly appreciated the positive opinions and important proposals of President Luong Cuong, affirming that the Party and State of China wish and are ready to maintain high-level strategic exchanges with Vietnam to promote the leading role in bilateral relations; continue to deepen cooperation through the Party, Government, military channels and law enforcement; effectively implement the cooperation plan connecting the "Ring, Road" initiative with the framework "Two Corridors, One Ring Road";
Ready to work with Vietnam to promote cooperation in transport infrastructure, especially the three railway lines connecting the two countries, cross-border economic cooperation zones, smart border gates; expand the import of high-quality goods from Vietnam; promote cooperation in emerging areas, such as green development, 5G, artificial intelligence;
Implement a rich and diverse humanitarian exchange to connect people's hearts, focusing on the young generations of the two countries when the youth of the two countries is considered the foundation and future of China-Vietnam relations; implement small and beautiful people-to-people projects, as well as enhance local exchange activities and cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and tourism, so that friendship can reach the hearts of the people of the two countries;
Strengthen cooperation in multilateral mechanisms, such as: APEC, ASEAN, Lan Thuong - Mekong; suggest that the two sides well implement high-level common perceptions, adequately control disagreements and expand cooperation at sea.
After the talks, President Luong Cuong hosted a solemn reception for General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and the high-ranking Chinese delegation.
