General Secretary and President To Lam begins official visit to the Republic of France
On September 10, General Secretary and President To Lam, along with his wife and the high-level Vietnamese delegation, began an official visit to the French Republic.
According to VNA, in the early morning of September 10 (local time), the special plane carrying General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived in Paris, starting an official visit to the French Republic and attending the Paris Cosmos Summit, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Welcoming the delegation at Orly airport, on the French side were French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez, French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet and Representatives of the Protocol Department, French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the Vietnamese side were Vietnamese Ambassador to France Trinh Duc Hai and his wife; Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to UNESCO Nguyen Thi Van Anh; along with a number of officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in France, waving flags and flowers to welcome General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife and the high-level Vietnamese delegation.
Vietnam and France officially established diplomatic relations on April 12, 1973. Vietnam-France relations are developing positively and comprehensively, both in breadth and depth, on the basis of increasing political trust and deep connections in history, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
This visit further affirms Vietnam's special importance to the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership; it is also an opportunity to connect France's strengths in science and technology, innovation and strategic technology industries with Vietnam's new development needs.
The participation of General Secretary and President To Lam in the Space Summit in Paris demonstrates Vietnam's development vision and proactive integration spirit, deploying at the highest level the Party's major guidelines and orientations on foreign affairs, international integration and science and technology development, innovation, creating conditions for Vietnam to participate in shaping international cooperation frameworks in an increasingly strategically important field for Vietnam.
This is also an important opportunity for Vietnam to contribute its voice to shaping space management towards peace, safety, sustainability, fairness, and the common interests of humanity; thereby continuing to affirm the image of a proactive, active and responsible Vietnam in handling global issues.
