HUE - The project to preserve, renovate and embellish the Hue Citadel system with a total cost of nearly 50 billion VND is being implemented.
In June 2023, the area of 1 Thuong Thanh and Eo Bau (one side of the south and part of the east of Hue citadel) was embellished and leveled with wild houses and luminescent plants. This is a project that comes with the migration work in Thuong Thanh, invested by the Land Fund Development Center of Hue City, with a total budget of more than 35 billion dong. (Photo taken in December 2024, the waist of the East of Kinh Thanh was renovated).In early 2025, Hue City will continue to implement the Hue Citadel system Conservation, restoration and embellishment project, including the items of restoration, embellishment of the Upper Citadel, the Array and the Ho Thanh stone embankment from Quan Tuong Dai to Tay Thanh Thuy Quan (the project area is under implementation).The project is invested by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center with a total cost of 49.3 billion VND to protect and maintain heritage values, reinforce degraded structures, and improve the landscape of the area.The project will renovate the Upper Citadel on an area of 892m and 21m wide. Including work such as leveling, filling soil, and paving Bat Trang bricks for walking paths and fire platforms.The remaining land area will be covered with three-leaf grass and reinforced with damaged and cracked walls to ensure the strength of the structure.The waist of Tay An and Tay Trinh, located in the system of Hue city, will also be renovated. Including soil digging, rebuilding artillery slopes, reinforcing wall -blocking walls, restoring ammunition and Bat Trang tiled for the aisle. (The area around the fighter will be embellished).With the Ho Thanh Hoa system, the focus will be on the restoration and embellishment of the inner stone embankment, 1,159m long, stretching from Quan Tuong Dai to Tay Thanh Thuy Quan. Damaged and landslide-prone sections will be dismantled, cleaned and old materials will be reused during the restoration process.The embankment foundation will be reinforced by placing bamboo stakes, pouring reinforced concrete and rebuilding with stone clay combined with cement mortar. In addition, the cage will also be dredged with mud, the dike will be built and the flow will be treated.The project to preserve, renovate and embellish the Hue Citadel system is expected to be completed in October 2027. (The ancient capital of the Imperial Academy will be renovated and restored).When completed, the project is expected to change the landscape, regaining the original appearance of the Thuong Thanh and Eo Bau relics. In the future, it will be opened to serve the sightseeing needs of people and tourists.
