The time when Hanoi finalizes the number and new names of wards and communes after the arrangement
Hanoi - The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee are meeting to discuss the plan to reorganize commune-level administrative units.
In Decision No. 759/QD-TTg approving the Project to reorganize and reorganize administrative units at all levels and build a model for organizing local government at both levels, the Government has instructed localities on the plan to reorganize commune-level administrative units.
The project clearly states that the total number of commune and ward administrative units after the reorganization will decrease to about 60-70% compared to the current number of commune-level administrative units in provinces and centrally run cities.
Immediately after the Central Government agreed to organize the two-level local government, reducing 60-70% of commune-level administrative units, on April 15 and 16, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee held a meeting to discuss the plan to reorganize commune-level administrative units.
Speaking to Lao Dong on April 15, Mr. Tran Dinh Canh - Director of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs said: "The spirit of Hanoi is to strictly comply with the direction of the Central Government. In addition, Hanoi has specific features that will be adjusted".
These specific characteristics are based on the Capital Law; Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW dated May 5, 2022 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for the development of Hanoi Capital to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Decision No. 1569/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister: Approving the Hanoi Capital Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
Mr. Canh informed that it is expected that on April 21, Hanoi will organize a public consultation. On April 23, there will be a meeting of the People's Council at the commune level; on April 24, there will be a meeting of the People's Council at the district level. On April 28, the Hanoi Party Committee will meet on the arrangement plan. On April 29, the City People's Council will meet to approve the arrangement project.
