Currently, Quang Tri has 10 district-level administrative units (including 7 districts, 1 island district, 1 city, 1 town) with 119 commune-level units: 13 wards, 11 towns, 95 communes.

In the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units, after the reorganization of Quang Tri, there will be 37 commune-level administrative units, including 3 wards, 33 communes and 1 special area, Con Co.
