Expected names of 37 commune-level administrative units in Quang Tri after the merger

Mr. Ngo Quang Chien - Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Tri province confirmed that from April 18 to April 20, localities in the province will organize a public consultation on the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units. This is an important step to complete the dossier and submit it to the Government before January 1 as prescribed.

To collect people's opinions, the Department of Home Affairs has sent a project to reorganize commune-level administrative units to localities.

Currently, Quang Tri has 10 district-level administrative units (including 7 districts, 1 island district, 1 city, 1 town) with 119 commune-level units: 13 wards, 11 towns, 95 communes.

In the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units, after the reorganization of Quang Tri, there will be 37 commune-level administrative units, including 3 wards, 33 communes and 1 special area, Con Co. Compared to the present, the whole province has reduced 82 commune-level units, including many merged towns and wards.

Dong Ha City has 2 wards left, including Dong Ha ward (merging wards 1, 3, 4, Dong Giang, Dong Thanh); Nam Dong Ha ward (merging wards 2, 5, Dong Le, Dong Thanh).

Quang Tri town becomes Quang Tri ward (merging wards 1, 2, 3, An Don, Hai Le).

Trieu Phong district has 5 remaining communes, including Trieu Phong 1 (merging Trieu Thanh, Trieu Thuong communes, Ai Tu town); Trieu Phong 2 (merging Trieu Ai, Trieu Giang, Trieu Long communes); Trieu Phong 3 (merging Trieu Do, Trieu Thuan, Trieu Hoa, Trieu Dai communes); Trieu Phong 4 (merging Trieu Co, Trieu Trung, Trieu Tai communes); Trieu Phong 5 (merging Trieu Trach, Trieu Phuoc, Trieu Tan communes).

Hai Lang district still has 5 communes, including Hai Lang commune (merged with Hai Truong commune, Dien Sanh town, Hai Dinh); Dong Hai Lang commune (merged with Hai Duong, Hai An, Hai Khe communes); Tay Hai Lang (merged with Hai Lam, Hai Thuong, Hai Phu communes); Nam Hai Lang (merged with Hai Son, Hai Phong, Hai Chanh communes); Trung Hai Lang (merged with Hai Quy, Hai Hung, Hai Binh communes).

Gio Linh district still has 4 communes, including Tay Gio Linh (merging Hai Thai, Linh Truong, Gio An, Gio Son communes); Dong Gio Linh (merging Gio Mai, Gio Hai communes, Cua Viet town); Gio Linh (merging Gio Quang commune, Gio My, Phong Binh, Gio Linh town); Bac Gio Linh (merging Trung Hai, Trung Giang, Trung Son communes).

Vinh Linh district still has 5 communes, including Vinh Linh 1 (merging Ho Xa town, Vinh Long, Vinh Chap); Vinh Linh 2 (merging Cua Tung town, Vinh Giang, Hien Thanh, Kim Thach); Vinh Linh 3 (merging Vinh Thai, Trung Nam, Vinh Hoa, Vinh Tu); Vinh Linh 4 (merging Vinh Thuy, Vinh Lam, Vinh Son); Vinh Linh 5 (merging Vinh O, Vinh Ha, Vinh Khe, Ben Quan town).

Huong Hoa district still has 7 communes, including Huong Lap (merging Huong Lap and Huong Viet communes); Huong Phung (merging Huong Phung, Huong Son, Huong Linh); Khe Sanh (merging Khe Sanh town, Tan Hop, Huc, Huong Tan); Tan Lap commune (merging Tan Lap, Tan Lien, Huong Loc); Lao Bao (merging Lao Bao town, Tan Thanh, Tan Long); Ly (merging lia, Thanh, Thuan); A Doi (merging A Doi, Ba Tang, Xy).

Dakrong district still has 5 communes, including La Lay (merging A Bung, A Ngo); Ta Rut (merging A Vao, Huc Nhi, Ta Rut); Dakrong (merging Ba Nang, Ta Long, Dakrong); Ba Long (merging Ba Long, Trieu Nguyen); Huong Hiep (merging Huong Hiep, Mo O, Krong Klang town).

Cam Lo district still has 2 communes, including Cam Lo (merging Cam Thanh, Cam Chinh, Cam Nghia, Cam Lo town); Cam Duong (merging Cam Hieu, Cam Thuy, Cam Tuyen, Cam An).

Con Co island district becomes Con Co special area, maintaining its unique geographical and administrative characteristics.

"After completing the collection of public opinions, the Department of Home Affairs will synthesize and report to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province on April 22 to complete the dossier to submit to the Government for approval according to schedule" - Mr. Ngo Quang Chien informed.
