The National Assembly always accompanies and supports the diplomatic sector

On August 4, at the National Assembly House, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man worked with the delegation of leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassadors, Heads of Vietnamese representative missions abroad on the occasion of returning home to attend the 33rd Diplomatic Conference.

Speaking to direct, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that the National Assembly always accompanies and supports the diplomatic sector, proactively completing the legal framework on foreign affairs, international treaties, international agreements and the activities of representative agencies; paying attention to the regimes, policies and working conditions of officials working abroad.

The National Assembly Chairwoman affirmed that in the common achievements of the country, there is a very important contribution from the diplomatic sector and representative agencies.

On behalf of the Party, State and National Assembly leaders, the National Assembly Chairman respectfully acknowledged and warmly praised the contributions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors, Heads of Representative Agencies to the cause of building and developing the country and the successes of Party foreign affairs, State diplomacy, National Assembly foreign affairs and people's foreign affairs.

Regarding tasks for the coming time, the National Assembly Chairwoman requested the entire sector to fully grasp the spirit of the 14th Party Congress Resolution, Resolution No. 06-NQ/TW and the Party's resolutions and directives on foreign affairs; continue to elevate and expand relations, promote economic diplomacy, pioneer in attracting resources and new generation capital flows, improve the effectiveness of multilateral foreign affairs and international prestige, and make proactive contributions to national development.

The National Assembly Chairwoman requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate with the National Assembly's agencies to review laws related to foreign affairs, treaties and international agreements, promptly propose amendments and supplements, ensure that institutions keep up with the new situation, clear bottlenecks, and create a favorable legal corridor for international integration and the activities of representative agencies.

Regarding parliamentary diplomacy, the National Assembly Chairwoman requested to continue to promote its role at international and regional parliamentary forums such as IPU, AIPA; strengthen legislative cooperation, supreme supervision, and exchange of experiences between National Assembly agencies, young parliamentarians and female parliamentarians. The coordination mechanism between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Committee for National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs and the National Assembly Office must be operated practically and effectively.

The National Assembly Chairwoman requested Heads of representative agencies to firmly grasp the parliamentary situation, build relationships with parliamentary leaders, specialized committees, political parties and influential parliamentarians; connect delegations of National Assembly leaders, the Ethnic Council, and National Assembly committees with local partners; promptly propose issues that can be promoted through the parliamentary channel; monitor and promote the implementation of commitments and agreements. The National Assembly and National Assembly leaders will continue to pay attention, accompany, and create conditions for representative agencies to successfully complete their assigned responsibilities.
