Quang Tri collects public opinions on the project to merge with Quang Binh province
Quang Tri province will provide a summary of the project to merge Quang Binh province with Quang Tri province to collect voters' opinions.
On April 16, Mr. Ha Sy Dong - Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province said that the People's Committee of Quang Tri province will organize to collect voters' opinions on the project to reorganize administrative units at the provincial and commune levels and submit to the People's Councils at all levels to approve the policy of reorganizing administrative units at the provincial and commune levels.
Accordingly, for the project to establish Quang Tri province on the basis of merging Quang Binh province and Quang Tri province, the locality will collect voters' opinions on the plan to merge the province, the name of the province established after the arrangement, the administrative and political center of the province established after the arrangement.
With the project to reorganize commune-level administrative units in Quang Tri province, voters will be consulted on the plan to reorganize commune-level administrative units, the name of the grassroots administrative unit (commune, ward) after the reorganization, the headquarters of the commune, ward after the reorganization.
The collection of voters' opinions is by sending ballots to voters representing households in each village and residential group in communes, wards and towns in the area.

"The organization of collecting voters' opinions is expected on April 20, 2025, then the Department of Home Affairs will synthesize and report to the Provincial People's Committee before April 23, 2025" - Mr. Ha Sy Dong informed.
After collecting voters' opinions, if more than 50% of voters representing households in the area agree, the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns shall submit a project to reorganize provincial-level administrative units, a project to reorganize commune-level administrative units and report to the People's Council at the same level for consideration.
