District 8 will prepare 11,471 apartments for resettlement, including 9,581 apartments invested with budget capital and 1,890 apartments invested by non-budget investors.
The city plans to implement 2 social housing projects and 7 resettlement housing projects, with a total investment of nearly 14,700 billion VND.
The project also plans to invest nearly VND 2,000 billion to upgrade and expand existing routes, especially the bridges on Pham The Hien Street and Bong Sao Street.

In addition, 6 park and green area projects with a total investment of about 187 billion VND will also be implemented, contributing to creating a landscape and community living space for people after resettlement.

In addition to the state budget, District 8 is also making efforts to attract non-budgetary investment in housing and transportation projects.
At the same time, 4 public land plots will be auctioned with the expectation of earning about VND6,000 billion. In particular, the revenue from auctioning of land after relocation is estimated at VND 77,500 billion, an important addition to the budget for project implementation.
Currently, wards in District 8 are urgently completing detailed projects for each area, based on the general urban renovation project approved by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City still has about 398 projects related to rivers, canals, and ditches that have not been implemented in 16 districts, towns, and Thu Duc City, with a total of nearly 40,000 houses needing to be relocated.
In order to completely resolve this situation, the city has developed a project to relocate all houses on and along rivers, canals, and ditches, with a goal of basically completing before 2030.
