A series of departments of Lao Cai and Yen Bai meet to discuss a merger plan
On April 14, Yen Bai and Lao Cai held a conference to discuss the plan to merge the two Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism with the two Departments of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
At the conference, delegates actively participated in discussions and gave their opinions on the draft project to merge the two departments; agreed on the organizational structure, personnel arrangement plan, staffing, streamlining roadmap and proposed recommendations when merging the two Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Yen Bai and Lao Cai.
The leaders of both sides also agreed on the establishment of a Working Group, urgently completing the draft merger project, and sending it to the Department of Home Affairs for synthesis and reporting.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Nong Viet Yen highly appreciated the working spirit and effectiveness of the conference, the high spirit of solidarity and consensus of the two Departments and believed that the conference was an important premise, creating conditions for the next steps to take place to ensure progress and quality according to requirements.
On the same day, in Yen Bai city, the Departments of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces had a working session to agree on the contents of the project to merge the two units.
At the meeting, leaders of the two departments informed about the situation of ethnic work and ethnic policies in the area. Along with that, information on the current organizational structure of the units; financial situation, infrastructure, working headquarters...
After the merger, the consolidation ensures the reasonable organization of multi-sector and multi-field management departments; implementing the principle that one agency performs many tasks and one task is only assigned to one agency to preside over and take primary responsibility.

Review, arrange and restructure the organization of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions after the merger to ensure streamlining and reduction of units, while following the orientation of the Central Government, regulations of the Government and in accordance with the situation and characteristics of the locality, operating effectively and efficiently.
The leaders of the Departments of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of the two provinces also agreed to continue exchanging information and closely coordinating in the process of implementing the next steps, ensuring progress, quality and suitability with the actual situation of each locality.
