Vietnamese leaders send New Year greeting letters to Laos and Cambodia

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the occasion of the traditional Bun Pi May Festival of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the traditional Chol Chhnam Thmey Festival of the Kingdom of Cambodia, General Secretary To Lam sent a letter and a handful of congratulatory flowers to General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Akka Moha Senai Padei Techo Hun Sen;

Politburo member and President Luong Cuong sent a letter and a congratulatory flower basket to General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and King of Cambodia Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni;

Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a letter and a congratulatory flower basket to Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet;

Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent a letter and presented flowers to congratulate Lao National Assembly Chairman Xaysomphone Phomvihane, President of the Cambodian Senate Samdech Moha Senai Padei Techo Hun Sen and President of the Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Moha Rotsaphea Thipadei Khuon Sudary.

In a letter to General Secretary, President Thongloun Sisoulith and senior leaders of Laos, General Secretary To Lam and senior leaders of Vietnam credited and shared their pride in the great achievements that the Lao Party, State and people have achieved in the past year; expressed confidence that under the wise leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party led by Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, the direction of the Government, the supervision of the National Assembly, the country and people of Laos will overcome difficulties, continue to achieve many new and greater achievements in the renovation process, successfully implement the Resolution of the 11th National Assembly of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, successfully organize party congresses at all levels towards the 12th National Assembly of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

Pleased with the important and comprehensive progress in the cooperation between the two countries, our leaders also affirmed that they are always deeply aware and very happy with the Lao leaders to constantly consolidate and foster the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to develop more effectively and substantially in the new context today, bringing practical benefits to the people of each country, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world".

In the letter to the King, CPP President, President of the Senate Hun Sen and senior leaders of Cambodia, General Secretary To Lam and senior leaders of Vietnam were pleased to see that in the past year, despite many challenges, thanks to the solid foundation built by generations of Cambodian leaders, the Cambodian people have achieved many impressive and comprehensive achievements in the cause of national construction and development.

Our leaders believe that under the wise rule of King Norodom Sihamoni and the correct leadership of the Cambodian People's Party led by President Hun Sen, the platform of the Cambodian People's Party for the 2023-2028 period and the Triangle Strategy of the Cambodian Royal Government will be successfully implemented, bringing practical benefits to the Cambodian people.

Regarding the relationship between the two countries, our leaders believe that the positive results achieved at the High-level Meeting between the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party and the Meeting between the Heads of the three Parties of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos in February 2025 will be concretized by the two sides, contributing to consolidating and deepening the good neighborly relationship, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability between the two countries, for the practical interests of each country's people, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son sent a letter of congratulations to Lao Deputy Prime Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Acting Head of the Central Committee for External Relations of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Bounleua Phandanouvong and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Head of the Central Committee for External Relations of the Cambodian People's Party Sokhonn.
