The Ministry of Construction has just signed 7 documents in the fields of railways and roads with China's partners.
On the occasion of the visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, with the consensus of competent authorities, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh signed 7 important documents in the field of railways and roads with China's partners. Including 2 documents are international treaties at the Government level, 2 ODA capital agreements between the two governments and 3 ministerial agreements.
In the railway sector, the Minister signed four documents, including:
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Construction and the National Development and Reform Committee of China on the establishment of the Vietnam-China Railway Cooperation Joint Committee to speed up the project implementation progress.
Minutes of working between the Ministry of Construction and the General Administration for International Development Cooperation of China (CIDCA) on field surveys to provide technical assistance in preparing feasibility study reports for the investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line in Vietnam.
The document discussed China's technical assistance in planning the Dong Dang - Hanoi, Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong standard gauge railway line.
The document discussed China's technical assistance in preparing a Feasibility Study Report for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong standard gauge railway construction investment project.
These railway documents play a big role, contributing to speeding up the preparation of railway projects connecting Vietnam - China, a content that has received great attention from the leaders of the two countries' Parties and Governments in recent times.
In particular, on this occasion, the Ministry of Construction has actively promoted the Chinese side to agree, complete procedures and sign an open letter of discussion on China's technical assistance in preparing the Feasibility Study Report for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong standard gauge railway construction investment project. This is a document of great significance, creating a basis for relevant agencies of the two countries to coordinate to promote internal procedures to soon start the Project.
In the road sector, the Minister signed three documents, including:
Agreement between the two governments on joint construction of transport works across the border of Thanh Thuy international border gate area, Vietnam - Tian Bao, China.
Protocol between the two governments on simplifying import and export procedures through Thanh Thuy, Vietnam - Thien Bao, and China for staff, means of transport, construction equipment, and construction materials to jointly construct transport works across the border of Thanh Thuy, Vietnam - Thien Bao, and China.
Memorandum of Understanding on Road Technical Cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Transport of China.
The two documents on the construction of cross-border traffic works signed will create an important legal basis for the two provinces of Ha Giang of Vietnam and Yunnan of China to invest in the construction of cross-border traffic works in the Thanh Thuy international border gate area, Vietnam - Tianjin, China. The cooperation documents contribute to promoting trade in goods and meeting the increasingly high demand for transit of the people of Ha Giang and Yunnan provinces in particular and the two countries of Vietnam and China in general through the Thanh Thuy - Thien Bao international border gate pair.
The signed Memorandum of Understanding on Road Technical Cooperation will promote cooperation between the two Ministries on road engineering, development of technical standards and regulations, research on new technologies, new materials, construction management, and maintenance.
