Overseas Vietnamese donate 250 million VND to Truong Sa Lon island green vegetable garden

On December 8, a working delegation of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Club in Poland visited and worked with Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 Command.

Here, Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Club in Poland presented a green vegetable garden worth 250 million VND to Truong Sa Lon island. This is a project proposed and promoted by Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Club in Poland.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Pham Thi Kim Hoa - Vice Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - expressed her emotion and appreciation for the affection of the Vietnamese community in Poland, especially the members of the Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Club, always looking towards the homeland's sea and islands with practical actions.

The idea of building a green vegetable garden was formed after a visit to Truong Sa and DK-I Gian Nha of the overseas Vietnamese group in April 2025. From concerns about the lives of soldiers and people on the island, the club has proactively proposed and mobilized the community to donate to support improving living conditions and increasing food autonomy in Truong Sa.

Ms. Cao Hong Vinh - President of Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Club in Poland - shared her emotions when on behalf of the overseas Vietnamese community in Poland, she sent a meaningful gift to Truong Sa.

She affirmed: We - the children far from home - always carry in our hearts the sacred image of our homelands sea and islands. Supporting the green vegetable garden is not only to improve life, but also to express the desire to long-term accompany Truong Sa. The first vegetable garden of the project will be deployed in the coming time on Truong Sa island and is expected to be inaugurated on the occasion of the overseas Vietnamese delegation visiting Truong Sa in 2026.

On behalf of Brigade 146, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Tao - Deputy Political Commissar of Brigade 146 - would like to express my sincere thanks to the affection of overseas Vietnamese in particular and the overseas Vietnamese community in general.

He emphasized: For Truong Sa officers and soldiers, every support, every heart of our compatriots at home and abroad is a great motivation to help us stay strong at the head of the storm. The green vegetable garden project not only has material value, but is also a symbol of the strength of national unity, of the distant future always towards the front line of the sea and islands".

On this occasion, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Club in Poland and the Vietnam- Europe contact Committee "For the Sea and Islands of Vietnam" had an activity to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs and offer incense at the Gac Ma Soldier Memorial Site, and at the same time visit and give gifts to Cam Ranh Military Kindergarten and Primary School and 26 scholarships to students with excellent academic achievements and difficult circumstances, with a total value of 40 million VND.
