On the morning of April 19, Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the T2 Passenger Terminal Construction Project - Dong Hoi Airport with a total investment of more than VND 1,750 billion.

The T2 Terminal Project is a component of the Project "Construction of the T2 Passenger Terminal and expansion of the aircraft parking lot - Dong Hoi Airport".

The project is built on an area of over 106,000m2, including a passenger terminal of nearly 12,000m2 with 2 floors combined with a central elevation, with 2 separate entrances. The project also has a system of floors, a car parking lot of more than 74,000m2 and a green tree and landscape item of more than 6,500m2.

Terminal T2 is designed with a capacity of 3 million domestic passengers/year, serving a maximum of 1,200 passengers/peak hour, and has a plan to expand to 5 million passengers/year after 2030.

According to ACV, Terminal T1 - Dong Hoi Airport is currently overloaded with a designed capacity of only 500,000 passengers/year, but it is expected to welcome nearly 1 million passengers by the end of 2025. The groundbreaking of Terminal T2 is expected to meet the rapidly increasing transportation demand, improve service quality and ensure synchronous infrastructure according to the airport system development plan until 2050.
