Starting construction of a road expressway project worth over VND6,800 billion in Ninh Binh
Ninh Binh - On the morning of April 19, the province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the investment project to build the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway, the section passing through the province.
Accordingly, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway construction investment project was held at the Mai Son intersection with the North - South expressway in Khanh Thuong commune, Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh (the starting point of the project).
Mr. Pham Quoc Chinh - Director of the Ninh Binh Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor) of the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway Construction Investment Project, the section passing through Ninh Binh province, said that this is a national key traffic project, of great significance in creating momentum and space for the development of Ninh Binh province and the region.
The investment goal of the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway project, the section passing through Ninh Binh province, is to gradually complete the expressway routes in the road network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Prime Minister.
Mr. Chinh said that, implementing the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, Ninh Binh province determined that the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway Construction Investment Project, the section passing through Ninh Binh province, plays a particularly important role in the development of Ninh Binh province.
Therefore, the province has established a Provincial Steering Committee to implement the project, headed by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and regularly reviewed the work weekly to urge and review the progress of project implementation. At the same time, organize meetings as soon as difficulties and problems arise to discuss solutions.
After about 1 year since the Prime Minister assigned it as the governing body, Ninh Binh province has implemented and completed the procedures quickly. Up to now, the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway Construction Investment Project, the section passing through Ninh Binh province, has met all the conditions to start construction.
The project is of great significance, creating new momentum for the socio-economic development of Ninh Binh province and the Red River Delta provinces. In addition to connecting with the Mai Son - National Highway 45 and reducing the load on the Mai Son - Cao Bo Expressway through the center of Hoa Lu city and the Mai Son route of Tam Toan Bridge, the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong Expressway, the section passing through Ninh Binh province also connects traffic to the entire eastern area of Ninh Binh province, Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa province, National Highway 10, coastal road, East - West traffic axis of Ninh Binh province" - Mr. Chinh said.
The Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway construction investment project, the section passing through Ninh Binh province, has a route length of 25.3km; starting point at Mai Son intersection connecting with the North - South expressway in the East (in Mai Son commune, Yen Mo district), ending point at the Day River overpass connecting Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh provinces (in Khanh Cuong commune, Yen Khanh district).
The project has a scale of 4 complete lanes, a design speed of 120km/h, a roadbed width of nearly 25m, and a road surface width of 15m. The entire route will have 12 bridges, including 3 overpasses for people and 3 interconnecting intersections. The total investment is VND6,865 billion, including the central budget and the Ninh Binh provincial budget. The project implementation period is 2024 - 2029.
