District People's Councils in Ba Ria - Vung Tau approve provincial-level mergers and rearrangements at commune level
Ba Ria - Vung Tau - District-level People's Councils have approved the policy of about to decentralize the commune level; merge the province with Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong.
On April 20, many district-level localities in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province held a thematic session of the People's Council (PC) to give opinions on the arrangement of administrative units.
Taking place on the morning of April 20, the People's Council of Ba Ria City reviewed the policy of merging Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City provinces, renaming Ho Chi Minh City; the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units in Ba Ria City.
After consideration, the delegates voted to pass the Resolution in favor of the above policies.
On the same afternoon, the People's Council of Vung Tau City and the People's Council of Phu My City also held a thematic session to review these policies, and voted to approve them with high approval.
The remaining district-level localities also held a thematic meeting of the People's Council on April 20, and approved the above policies.

Thus, the thematic session of the People's Councils at the district level across the province approved the policy of merging at the provincial level and rearranging at the commune level.
The results of the consultation with voters representing households in the district-level localities also recorded the consensus of the majority of voters.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Duong Trong Hieu - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee said that based on the report on the situation of localities, it is expected that on April 27, the Provincial People's Council will hold the 29th session to consider the policy of merging Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Binh Duong province and Ho Chi Minh City, renaming Ho Chi Minh City; and the policy of arranging commune-level administrative units throughout the province.
