Forecast of deep decline in gasoline prices, approaching the mark of 18,000 VND/liter
It is forecasted that in the operating period until April 17, gasoline prices may continue to decrease, the highest at VND800/liter.
According to a survey at 2:51 p.m. on April 14 (Vietnam time), WTI oil price increased by 0.25 USD/barrel (up 0.41%), to 61.75 USD/barrel. Brent oil price decreased by 0.12 USD/barrel (down 0.19%), down to 64.64 USD/barrel.
Data released on Monday showed that China's crude oil imports in March recovered strongly compared to two months before. At the same time, it increased by nearly 5% compared to the same period last year thanks to a sudden increase in oil imports from Iran and a recovery in oil imports from Russia.
Analysts led by Daan Struyven said in a note that global oil demand in the fourth quarter of 2025 increased by only 300,000 barrels per day compared to the same period last year. The reason is the weak growth prospects. At the same time, the expert added that the slowdown in demand is expected to be the strongest for petrochemical input materials.
US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said on Friday that the US could block Iran's oil exports as part of President Trump's plan to pressure Tehran over its nuclear program, thereby potentially supporting oil prices.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, retail prices of gasoline may continue to decrease.
In particular, RON 95 gasoline price may decrease by about 600-800 VND/liter; E5 gasoline may decrease by about 650-800 VND/liter; Diesel oil decrease by about 400-600 VND/liter.
Domestic retail gasoline prices on April 14, 2025 will be applied according to the adjustment session from 3:00 p.m. on April 10 of the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In the adjustment session on April 10, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, at VND18,882/liter (down VND1,491/liter). RON 95-III gasoline price decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, at VND19/207/liter (down VND1,712/liter).
Prices of oil products also decreased simultaneously. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at VND17,243/liter (down VND1,235/liter); kerosene has a new price of VND17,413/liter (down VND1,322/liter); mazut is priced at VND15,902/kg (down VND1,124/kg).
