Dien Bien prepares to inaugurate A Pa Chai flagpole
Dien Bien province will hold a Flag-raising ceremony and inaugurate the A Pa Chai flagpole, which is over 45m high, in Sin Thau commune, Muong Nhe district.
Accordingly, the A Pa Chai Flag Tower and Inauguration Ceremony will be held on May 7, 2025, on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2025), to affirm national border sovereignty in the westernmost part of the Fatherland.
The inauguration ceremony will be held at the waiting House yard area at the intersection of the border between the three countries of Vietnam - Laos - China. Meanwhile, the Flag-raising ceremony was held at the flagpole yard of A Pa Chai, Sin Thau commune, Muong Nhe district, Dien Bien province.

The flagpole built at the far west is both meaningful in affirming the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland and carrying cultural and tourism values. This is a project invested by the Border Guard of Dien Bien province and funded by socialized sources.
According to the design, the national flagpole is about 45.19m high, of which the pillars are made of reinforced concrete and are 29.5m high; the steel flagpole is 15.69m high; the flag size is 7.5m x 5m with an area of 37.5m2.
The base and body of the flag are designed in the shape of a rectangle, the outside of the flagpole is made of stone, the base is highlighted with relief images typical of Northwest culture and national motifs.
