Dien Bien hands over 12 applications for election to the 16th National Assembly

Dien Bien - 100% of the dossiers received are personnel introduced to run for National Assembly Deputy of the 16th term and Provincial People's Council Deputy of the 16th term, term 2026-2031.

On the morning of February 2nd, the Dien Bien Provincial Election Commission held a conference to hand over the dossiers of candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the 16th Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031 to the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat - Director of the Department of Home Affairs, the standing agency of the Dien Bien Provincial Election Commission, said that from December 15, 2025 to February 1, 2026, the agency has received applications for National Assembly Deputies and Provincial People's Council Deputies. On Saturdays and Sundays, the Provincial Election Commission arranges people to be on duty to receive applications.

By February 1st, the standing agency of the Provincial Election Commission had received and completed the appraisal of 12 sets of dossiers for National Assembly Deputy elections (100% of dossiers were due to being recommended for election). By February 1st, the Dien Bien Department of Home Affairs had received and completed appraisal of 96 dossiers for candidates for the 16th Provincial People's Council, term 2026-2031 (100% of dossiers were due to being recommended for candidacy).

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Lo Van Cuong - Standing Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of all levels and sectors, especially the Department of Home Affairs, to deploy and implement preparation steps for the election.

Mr. Cuong also proposed that after the conference to hand over candidate dossiers, the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee should conduct appraisal of candidate dossiers, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee should conduct a second consultation within the prescribed time and ensure the right to run for election of individuals.
