Proposal to temporarily suspend nearly 160 projects to avoid waste when merging
Thanh Hoa - Nearly 160 projects have been proposed to be temporarily suspended to save and avoid waste when merging.
On April 12, information from the Thanh Hoa Department of Finance said that the whole province has 159 projects, with a total investment of more than VND 2,000 billion, affected by the policy of removing district level and merging commune level.

The investors of these projects are the People's Committees at the district, commune levels and provincial departments and branches. To save and avoid waste, the investor has proposed a temporary stop. These projects have been approved before but have not been implemented.
According to statistics, out of 159 projects, there are 20 projects with a total capital of more than 619 billion VND from the provincial budget (invested by provincial departments, branches and sectors); there are 97 source of capital projects managed by district level with a total investment of more than 1,300 billion VND; 42 projects managed by commune level with a total investment of more than 92 billion VND.
It is known that previously, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province received Official Letter No. 909/STC-QLDP&CS dated March 3, 2025 from the Department of Finance of Thanh Hoa province on reviewing and temporarily suspending the implementation of investment in headquarters of district-level administrative agencies to implement the arrangement of the political system apparatus.
After consideration, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to urgently review and temporarily suspend the implementation of investment projects to build new, repair, renovate and upgrade offices of district-level administrative agencies and units (except in urgent cases, directly affecting the safety of cadres, civil servants and workers) until the direction of the Provincial People's Committee is given; ensure thrift and fight waste according to regulations.
