On the morning of April 24, the National Assembly solemnly held the closing session of the First Session.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that after 12 working days, the First Session has completed all the contents and programs set out.

According to the National Assembly Chairwoman, in a very short time, the First Session has carried out many important tasks. In which, focusing on consolidating the State apparatus, electing high-level leadership positions according to the provisions of the Constitution and law.

Promptly institutionalize many guidelines and policies into laws to implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress. At the same time, decide on socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense, security and foreign affairs, including many urgent and pressing tasks.

Faced with the new requirements of the country, the 16th National Assembly proactively and urgently deployed work from the early days with a high determination, doing it immediately and methodically.

National Assembly deputies, whether re-elected or participating for the first time, have highly promoted their responsibility to voters and the people, clearly showing bravery, wisdom, aspiration to contribute, and contributing many heartfelt, profound, and quality opinions" - the National Assembly Chairwoman emphasized.

According to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, this session has completed an important task, considering and deciding on the organizational structure and electing and approving 39 senior personnel of the State apparatus. The National Assembly elected the President, Chairman of the National Assembly, and Prime Minister with the very high trust of the National Assembly deputies.

Along with that, the National Assembly passed 9 laws and 31 resolutions, including many Laws and Resolutions passed with a 100% approval rate of National Assembly deputies present.

The policies issued at the Session are aimed at removing bottlenecks, both ensuring fundamentality, long-termness, and timely response to practical requirements, promoting decentralization and delegation of power associated with improving specific responsibilities.

At the same time, stipulate specific mechanisms and policies to effectively handle backlog projects, and unlock resources for socio-economic development.

In particular, the timely and flexible adjustment of taxes has affirmed the proactiveness and decisiveness in operating fiscal policy and supporting businesses and people to overcome difficulties.

Realizing the double-digit growth target

The National Assembly also spent a lot of time considering, thoroughly discussing and deciding on the system of 5-year development plans for the 2026-2030 period.

On that basis, the National Assembly proposed synchronous and feasible solutions to stabilize the macroeconomy, control inflation, ensure major balances of the economy and create momentum to promote growth right from the first year of the term; making an important contribution to realizing the double-digit growth target.

The National Assembly requests the Government, agencies of the National Assembly and agencies and localities, immediately after the Session, to urgently organize the effective implementation of the Laws and Resolutions that have been passed" - the National Assembly Chairman said and emphasized that the successful success of the Session creates new atmosphere, confidence and motivation for the entire National Assembly term.

The National Assembly Chairwoman added that, deeply grasping the direction of General Secretary and President To Lam, each National Assembly deputy needs to continue to promote its role as a representative of the will and aspirations of the people; closely associate with voters; listen to and reflect the reality of life in the parliament; turn the aspirations of the people into correct, timely, and effective policies.
