National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man meets with General Secretary and President of China

On April 14, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his delight at the rich achievements and important common perceptions that General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping achieved during the talks, especially the two General Secretaries agreed on guiding ideology at a strategic level and comprehensively oriented the employment to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the Community of Shared Future of strategic significance between the two countries.

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly will thoroughly grasp and be ready to closely coordinate with the National People's Congress of China in promoting the role of the Supreme Legislative body, promoting the concretization of important common perceptions between the two General Secretaries.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping said that he had just held effective talks and meetings with General Secretary To Lam and Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping said that both countries are entering a key stage in each country's strategic development, and need to coordinate to deepen the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future with strategic significance, adding positive and stable energy to the development of the world.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the National People's Congress of China has become an important pillar, contributing to building a solid foundation for the sustainable development of bilateral relations.

Regarding the direction of cooperation in the coming time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that the National Assembly of Vietnam will continue to closely coordinate with the National People's Congress of China through mechanisms such as exchanging high-level delegations, professional committees, groups of friends and multilateral parliamentary forums; improving the effectiveness of national governance; being an important bridge, bringing the voices of the people of the two countries closer together, thereby consolidating the social foundation for Vietnam - China relations.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping agreed that the two sides need to increase exchanges of Party channels, Nhan Dan/Quoc Hoc, Chinh Thong/Fatherland Front, share legislative experience, and jointly build a solid legal corridor for major cooperation projects, including cooperation in building 3 standard gauge railway lines connecting the two countries;

The General Secretary and President of China hopes that the specialized agencies under the National Assembly and the People's Public Security will increase exchanges on experiences in building a socialist rule-of-law state, developing a people's democracy throughout the process; promote thematic exchanges on the law; jointly inherit and promote the tradition of cooperation between the two Parties and the people of the two countries; strengthen multilateral cooperation; control disagreements at sea well, thereby constantly consolidating, preserving and promoting friendly neighborly relations, enriching the content of the China - Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

Expressing his approval of the proposals of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping affirmed his support for the entire People's Republic of China to increase cooperation with the National Assembly of Vietnam; welcomed National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to visit China to enhance exchanges between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
