In the first days of the Binh Ngo New Year 2026, in Bentiu (South Sudan), nearly 10,000 km from Vietnam, amidst the context of the security situation in the area still having many complicated escalating developments, the collective of officials and staff of Level 2 Field Hospital No. 7 (BVDC 2. 7) belonging to the Vietnamese "green berets" force still preserves a sacred tradition: bringing Vietnamese Tet to those who remain at the front lines - patients, on-duty teams and even communities with many difficulties in the mission.

Right on the first day of the new year, in addition to organizing spring and Tet celebration activities for officials and employees, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of BVDC 2, 7 directly went to each patient room to wish Tet to patients being treated at the hospital.

Not only wishes for peace and health, the hospital director also kindly presented red lucky money envelopes - symbols of luck, hope and a new beginning according to the Vietnamese Lunar New Year tradition.

The image of the commander in a green beret uniform leaning against the hospital bed, giving lucky money envelopes and introducing Vietnamese traditional Tet customs has become a touching moment.

That is not only the beauty of national culture preserved in the distance, but also a message of hope, about a new beginning and belief in recovery.

Captain Phan Van Hau - Head of the Department of Surgery, who directly performed surgery to save many patients - also sent Tet greetings and small lucky money envelopes but containing great feelings to patients. These simple but sincere gestures contribute to warming the Spring atmosphere amidst many shortcomings in working conditions.

In parallel with visiting patients, the Board of Directors also came to encourage emergency on-duty teams (ER), rapid response teams, security forces... Soldiers who have no minute off on New Year's Eve, Tet holiday, still firmly in their positions, keeping the hospital in the highest readiness.

Tet of soldiers on the front lines does not have a complete resting moment, but it is full of discipline, responsibility and comradeship.

Amidst the escalating instability, maintaining a state of combat readiness, readiness to rescue and respond to all situations is a vivid manifestation of Vietnam's bravery and prestige in United Nations peacekeeping operations.

Spreading the image of Vietnam loving peace

The series of Tet welcoming activities of BVDC 2.7 has a meaning that goes beyond the scope of a unit. That is the affirmation of national cultural identity in a multinational environment; is the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era - both professionally solid and full of compassion; is proof of Vietnam's commitment to actively and responsibly contributing to the common efforts of the international community for peace.

Tet in Bentiu, nearly 10,000 km away from the Vietnamese Fatherland, there are no brilliant fireworks, but there are Vietnamese hearts silently lighting up faith with simple but meaningful actions, with tight hands overcoming all difficulties.

Tet is not only a moment of transition to the new year, but also an opportunity for love to be shared, culture to be spread, and peace to be nurtured by specific, practical and responsible actions.
