Rach Mieu 2 Bridge worth over VND6,800 billion officially closed
Ben Tre - Rach Mieu 2 Bridge has just held a closing ceremony, marking an important milestone in the construction progress.
On April 19, the Ministry of Construction coordinated with the People's Committees of Tien Giang province and Ben Tre province to organize the closing ceremony of the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project.

Mr. Tran Van Thi - Director of My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) - said that the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has completed 85% of the volume, exceeding the general progress by more than 5.04% compared to the plan. In particular, the main bridge (Rach Mieu 2 bridge) is more than 15% ahead of schedule.
Up to now, the entire route has been completed 14/14km (100%). Of which, about 7/14km of asphalt concrete has been spread in each segment and it is expected to complete the entire route (including the road and bridge) on the Ben Tre side before June 30, 2025.
Regarding the bridge section on the route, 4/6 bridges have been completed; the remaining 2 bridges under construction are the main bridge and the Song Ma bridge. Of which, Song Ma bridge is expected to be completed in June 2025. As for the main bridge, 13/14 main bridge deck casting blocks have been completed, currently under construction of the bridge - casting block No. 14 (5.0m long), which will be closed on April 19, 2025.
According to Mr. Thi, every day, at this project site, the units continue to maintain construction in 3 shifts, 4 teams with a total of about 30 construction teams, about 150 equipment units, 500 workers and 83 technical staff.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Ngoc Tam - Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee - said that the closing event of the Rach Mieu Bridge project is an important milestone in the construction progress and an important premise for completing the project and putting it into operation, which will contribute to solving the current traffic congestion at Rach Mieu Bridge.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - Minister of Finance - said that the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project has been inspected by the Prime Minister many times at the construction site. For each inspection, the Prime Minister directs to speed up the construction progress to put the project into use by September 2, 2025. Today, the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project is an important milestone, a symbol of solidarity, perseverance and dedication of hundreds of engineers and workers who have been sweating at the construction site over the past time.
In the coming time, the Minister of Finance requested the investor's representative to coordinate with localities to continue construction to complete and put the Rach Mieu Bridge project into use during the upcoming September 2 holiday.
