Close-up of Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal worth nearly VND11,000 billion inaugurated on April 19
HCMC - Tan Son Nhat Airport's T3 Terminal has a total investment of nearly VND11, the largest domestic terminal in the country, and will be officially inaugurated on April 19.
The new "heart" of domestic aviation
Started in August 2022, terminal T3 has a total floor area of over 112,500m2, including 1 basement and 4 upper floors.
When put into operation, Terminal T3 will serve domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air, with a designed capacity of up to 20 million passengers/year.
Along with terminals T1 and T2, the total operating capacity of Tan Son Nhat airport will be increased to 50 million passengers per year.
As of April 16, all construction and technical installation items of the terminal have been completed.
The lighting system, flight information board, check-in counter, elevator, toilet, and many other modern items are ready to go into operation.

Inside the terminal, the space is designed spaciously, modernly and scientifically arranged, creating maximum convenience for passengers. Terminal T3 has 90 traditional check-in counters, 20 automatic luggage discharge counters and 42 self-service check-in kiosks.
In addition, advanced technology systems such as smart luggage drive banners, security screening machines, automatic tray repair, biometric technology, etc. have also been integrated.

Terminal T3 has a total of 27 aircraft departure gates, of which 13 are directly connected by cable-stayed bridges and 14 bus departures.
The security control system is enhanced with 25 passenger checkpoints and 8 high-tech security control gates.
In the days leading up to the inauguration ceremony, hundreds of workers are still busy completing the final stages, from checking the technical system to meticulously cleaning each large glass block, ensuring that the T3 terminal is put into operation in the best condition.

The inauguration ceremony of terminal T3 will be held on the morning of April 19, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
Passengers pay attention to avoid mistaken stations at Tan Son Nhat
To prepare for official operation, Vietnam Airlines in coordination with Tan Son Nhat International Airport has organized large-scale drills, checking the entire operating process to ensure safety and smoothness for passengers in the first phase of operation.

From April 17, flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Van Don of Vietnam Airlines will switch to operation at Terminal T3. By the end of April, all domestic flights of Vietnam Airlines (except flights to Con Dao, Ca Mau, Rach Gia) will officially be transferred to new terminals.
Vietjet Air will also operate all domestic flights from T3 in the coming time.
However, because T3 terminal only serves domestically and is located a distance from T1 and T2 terminals due to being separated by two parallel taxiways, passengers need to pay attention to distinguishing to avoid going to the wrong terminal.
If you follow the roundabout from the gate of Terminal T1 (Truong Son Street) to the gate of Terminal T3 (the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa), passengers will lose about 2 km.

To support passengers, Tan Son Nhat airport will organize shuttle buses with a frequency of 20 minutes/trip, operating continuously between three terminals T1 - T2 - T3.
At the same time, the system of signs and support staff at the airport will also be fully arranged, ensuring that passengers, especially those connecting flights, do not have difficulty moving.
