The Ministry of Home Affairs strengthens inspection and examination of gender equality violations
The Ministry of Home Affairs requires strengthening inspection, examination, and strict handling of violations of gender equality in 2025.
Authorized by the Minister of Home Affairs, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha signed an official dispatch to ministries and ministerial-level agencies under the Government; People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities; Central agencies of organizations to guide the implementation of gender equality work in 2025.
In the Official Dispatch, the Ministry of Home Affairs provides specific instructions on improving the capacity and effectiveness of state management on gender equality as follows:
Early improvement of the organizational structure, arrangement and assignment of cadres and civil servants to work on gender equality in agencies and units. Strengthen the responsibility of state management agencies on gender equality; enhance the role and responsibility of Party committees and authorities at all levels in directing and implementing the Party's policies, laws and state policies on gender equality.
Organize training courses on gender mainstreaming skills in developing legal documents, strategies, programs, projects... for officials in charge of legal work and policy and law making.
Training on gender and gender equality for inspection officers, judges, officers in charge of gender equality work and members of the Committee for the advancement of women of ministries, branches and localities.
Organize training courses for source lecturers on gender at the provincial level to proactively deploy training and capacity building for the team of cadres working on gender equality and preventing and responding to gender-based violence in accordance with local requirements.
Notably, the Ministry requires strengthening inspection, examination, and strict handling of violations of gender equality; promptly verifying and reporting issues and incidents related to gender equality and gender-based violence to competent state agencies for coordination in resolution.
Focus on inter-sectoral coordination between state management agencies and socio-political organizations in developing, implementing and inspecting, examining and supervising the implementation of laws and policies on gender equality.
Encourage the pilot development and operation of initiatives and models to promote gender equality and prevent and respond to gender-based violence.
Prioritize budget allocation; build mechanisms and policies to mobilize human resources and funding to ensure the implementation of gender equality in the locality. Promote socialization and mobilize legal resources from domestic and international agencies, organizations and individuals to increase sustainability and efficiency in implementing gender equality work.
Strictly implement the collection of statistical indicators and report according to Circular 10/2019/TT-BKHDT dated July 30, 2019 of the Minister of Planning and Investment on the regulation of the National Gender Development Statistical Component; Instructions for collecting data and reporting the results of implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the period 2021-2030.
Timely reward and commend individuals and units with outstanding achievements in gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence.
Strictly implement the information and reporting regime on gender equality work, ensuring the content according to the outline, appendix, and reporting deadline as required.
