In an effort to care for, Can Tho Trade Union develops nearly 38,000 new union members

According to the Can Tho City Labor Federation, in the past 5 years, the City Labor Federation Party Committee has closely coordinated with the Party Delegation, the Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation, leaders of cadres, party members, civil servants, and public employees of affiliated agencies and units to raise awareness, responsibility, and innovate the content and methods of Trade Union organization activities to be increasingly practical and effective.

Propaganda work has focused on timely and serious propaganda of the Party's directives and resolutions, the House of Water and the laws and policies of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; contents related to the rights and obligations of union members and workers; as well as the political tasks of the locality.

Activities to celebrate important anniversaries and major holidays of the country are implemented in many rich forms through cultural, artistic and sports programs.

The city's trade unions at all levels have promoted emulation work, cared for the lives, protected the legitimate rights and interests of union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers with many practical activities such as Tet Sum Vay, Trade Union Market, Trade Union Shelter, Workers' Month, etc.

The Welfare for Union Members programs are increasingly creative and diverse, caring for the practical benefits of Union members and employees, contributing to building and strengthening the relationship and connection between union members and the Trade Union organization, said the leader of the Can Tho City Labor Federation.

From the effectiveness of caring for and representing activities, during the term, the city's trade unions at all levels established 111 grassroots trade unions, developed 37,623 union members and introduced 6,076 union members to the Party for consideration and admission to the Party, achieving an average of 100% of the assigned target, contributing to building a strong city trade union organization system.

Not stopping there, many patriotic emulation movements "Good worker", "Creative worker", "Good at water work - Good at housework" launched by the City Labor Federation have received positive responses from the Trade Unions at all levels and a large number of union members and employees in the area. Thereby, many emulation projects, products, and initiatives have been registered for implementation with the value of benefits increasing every year.

Notably, there are many initiatives awarded the Certificate of Creative Labor at the city and the General Confederation. Most recently, the initiative " Design for construction of a cold storage model using a layered cycle" by a group of authors from Can Tho Vocational College was honored to receive the Creative Labor Certificate from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor at the 2025 Creative Labor Festival held in Hanoi.

During the term, the City Labor Federation also directed the organization of Trade Union congresses at all levels towards successfully organizing the 11th Can Tho City Trade Union Congress, term 2023-2028; Coordinate with the Party delegation to lead the implementation of staff streamlining; reorganize and perfect the organization and apparatus; regularly pay attention to the work of training and fostering cadres and Party members.
