Lao Cai Trade Union expands grassroots, improves the support points for workers

In the context of production and business in industrial parks gradually stabilizing after the Lunar New Year, trade union activities in Lao Cai province also recorded many positive movements.

Not only focusing on caring for life and protecting the rights of workers, trade union levels also proactively expand their organizations, aiming to build an increasingly strong grassroots trade union network.

The Trade Union Committee of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province, base 2, currently has 45 grassroots trade unions with 5,553 union members and workers.

Average income reached about 7.2 million VND/person/month, the lowest level was about 4.5 million VND, basically ensuring the minimum living standard in conditions where living expenses are still under high pressure.

In the first quarter of 2026, the production and business situation of enterprises under the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province, base 2, was basically stable; after the Tet holiday, most workers returned to work fully, helping units quickly restore the production rhythm.

Labor relations continued to be maintained, and no strikes or collective disputes arose.

In addition, regimes and policies for workers are concerned with implementation. Trade unions coordinate with businesses to supervise the payment of salaries, Tet bonuses, working hours, rest time as well as insurance regimes. Thanks to that, the legitimate and lawful rights of workers are guaranteed.

Caring work is deployed synchronously, especially during the 2026 Lunar New Year. The Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province, base 2, and grassroots units have organized visits and gifts for 557 union members in difficult circumstances and 13 cases of children of orphaned, disabled, and seriously ill union members, with a total budget of more than 593 million VND.

Many businesses organize the program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Love", creating a warm and sharing atmosphere among workers.

Not only that, labor safety and hygiene work continues to be emphasized. Units strengthen propaganda and guide workers to comply with production procedures and use sufficient protective equipment.

When a serious labor accident occurred in Tang Loong Industrial Park, the trade union organization promptly coordinated with relevant agencies to support the victim's family, and at the same time stabilize the psychology of workers.

One of the key tasks is to mobilize the establishment of grassroots trade unions. The Trade Union Committee has reviewed businesses that do not have trade union organizations, proactively approached and propagated about the role and benefits of trade union organizations for both workers and businesses.

Information from the Trade Union Committee of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province, base 2, in the second quarter of 2026, the unit determined to continue to promote propaganda, develop union members, establish grassroots trade unions at eligible enterprises; and at the same time strengthen the organization of care activities during Workers' Month and Action Month on occupational safety and health.

On March 28, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Tuan Hai - Deputy Head of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province, base 2, said that the overarching goal is to build a trade union organization that truly becomes a reliable support for workers, and at the same time an effective bridge between workers and businesses.

In the coming time, we will continue to promote the establishment of grassroots trade unions, striving to establish 3-4 more units in the second quarter of 2026. Along with that, programs to care for life and protect the rights of union members and workers will be implemented practically, closer to practical needs," Mr. Hai emphasized.
