Bringing quality healthcare closer to people with meritorious services and policy families

On May 9, in Yen Bai commune (Hanoi), about 250 people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of policy families were given free health check-ups in a charity program organized by the School of Management and Business (HSB) - Vietnam National University, Hanoi in coordination with many medical units.

From early morning, many people were present at the BAVIECO Traditional Medicine Clinic in Muong Voi village to wait for their turn to be examined. Despite their old age and inconvenient travel, many elderly men and women were still happy and touched when they were enthusiastically inquired, checked for health and consulted on home care by doctors.

The program has the participation of nearly 40 doctors and medical staff from Hanoi National University Hospital, Central Traditional Medicine Hospital, Cung Hong Son International Eye Hospital and many other coordinating units.

People are examined according to a "one-way" process, from measuring blood pressure, checking basic health indicators to internal medicine examination, eye examination, consultation and intervention in traditional medicine. Some cases are also prescribed to perform ultrasound, electrocardiogram, blood sugar test or mobile X-ray to screen for pathology.

The atmosphere at the examination point is not only simple medical activities but also full of sharing. Next to the doctors and nurses are images of young students of HSB busily guiding and supporting the elderly, supporting information recording and coordinating medical examination procedures.

Many students said that this is the first time participating in large-scale community activities in the field of health care. The practical experiences help them better understand the value of empathy, social responsibility and skills to serve patients.

According to Prof. Dr. Hoang Dinh Phi - Principal of HSB School of Management and Business, the program not only carries the meaning of gratitude to people with meritorious services but also aims to build a connection model between education, health and the community.

We want students not only to learn knowledge in the lecture hall but also to know how to serve society with practical actions," Mr. Phi shared.

This medical examination and treatment activity is within the framework of the initiative to support innovation in community health care initiated by HSB. The program aims to combine traditional medicine with modern screening methods to bring better health care opportunities for vulnerable groups, the elderly and policy families.

In the midst of modern life, charity medical examinations like in Yen Bai not only help people access medical services, but also contribute to spreading the spirit of compassion and kindness in the community.
