Trade unions flexibly care for workers in hot weather

These days, when the weather in the Central region is starting to enter a period of intense heat, many workers at businesses in Nam Phuoc commune, Da Nang city have clearly felt the concern from the Trade Union organization and businesses through very simple but meaningful activities. These may be bottles of cool water prepared for workers during working hours, snacks between shifts to supplement health, or cleaning and renovating factories to create a green - clean - safer working environment.

The program "Raising the heat of summer - Supporting workers" is organized in a flexible direction, suitable to the conditions of each unit. Therefore, each grassroots trade union has its own ways of taking care of union members and workers.

Typically, at Phan Ngoc Anh Company, the grassroots trade union has coordinated with businesses to simultaneously implement many activities to care for workers in all 3 production facilities of the company. In addition to dispensing cooling water daily, the trade union also organizes cleaning and sanitation of the working area, contributing to reducing the feeling of stuffiness in the summer factory.

We hope that each grassroots trade union will have at least one specific activity to care for workers in the hot season. Some places provide drinking water, some places organize snacks, some places improve the working environment or organize collective activities. The important thing is that workers feel shared and encouraged in a timely manner" - Ms. Vy shared.

At the Trade Union of Tam Tri Quang Nam General Hospital, in response to the program launched by Nam Phuoc Commune Trade Union, the unit organized the presentation of cooling water and flowers to encourage the team of midwives, doctors and staff of the Obstetrics Department on International Midwifery Day 5. The gifts, although not large, created a warm atmosphere, helping workers feel recognized and added motivation in a high-pressure working environment.
