General Nguyen Trong Nghia visits people with meritorious services and workers in Gia Lai
Gia Lai - General Nguyen Trong Nghia visited and presented 300 gifts to people with meritorious services, policy families and workers on the occasion of April 30 and May 1.
On April 28, General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army - visited and presented gifts to people with meritorious services, policy families and workers in Gia Lai province to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Complete Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026) and the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026).

Attending the program were Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Major General Luong Dinh Chung - Political Commissar of Military Region 5; and leaders of Gia Lai province.
Reporting to the Central working delegation, Mr. Tran Minh Son - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province - said that the whole province is currently implementing preferential policies for more than 42,026 martyrs, 5,573 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and tens of thousands of people with meritorious services to the revolution.

In which, the province pays special attention to caring for 856 veteran revolutionary cadres, pre-insurrection activists; more than 32,000 wounded soldiers and sick soldiers; 65 Heroes of the People's Armed Forces and more than 100,000 people who have contributed to helping the revolution and fulfilling international obligations.
Preferential policies are fully implemented, the lives of people with meritorious services are basically stable, gradually improved and elevated compared to the population level in the place of residence.

In 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, the province issued 2,203 decisions on allowances and subsidies, including 243 decisions under the Prime Minister's authority and 1,960 decisions under the provincial authority.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that Gia Lai is a heroic land, rich in revolutionary traditions. Every inch of land, every road here marks the great sacrifice and contribution of generations of fathers and brothers for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

According to Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, although there are still many difficulties after the process of arranging administrative units, the province always identifies gratitude work, caring for policy families, people with meritorious services and workers in difficult circumstances as an important and regular political task.
General Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed that the Party, State and Army always pay special attention to policy families, people with meritorious services and workers. Taking care of the material and spiritual life of policy beneficiaries is not only a responsibility but also the ethnic tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source".

The General wished policy families to continue to promote revolutionary traditions, strive to rise up in life; workers to promote the spirit of responsibility, enthusiastically produce, contributing to building their homeland and country to become more and more developed.
On this occasion, General Nguyen Trong Nghia and the working delegation presented 300 gifts (each worth 2.5 million VND) from Party and State leaders, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to policy families, people with meritorious services and workers in difficult circumstances.
Previously, on the evening of April 27, General Nguyen Trong Nghia and the Central working delegation visited the martyrs' cemetery in Quy Nhon Nam ward and visited and presented gifts to wounded soldiers' families in the area.
