Gratitude to 8 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers in Laos
HUE - The memorial service and burial of 8 sets of remains of martyrs in Hue expresses the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", expressing gratitude to people with meritorious services.
On May 22, at Hue City Martyrs' Cemetery, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Hue City organized a ceremony to pay respects, commemorate and bury 8 sets of remains of martyrs who were Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed on the Lao battlefield to their final resting place.
Attending the ceremony were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly - along with representatives of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Military Region 4 Command and leaders of Hue City, Salavan and Sekong provinces of Laos.
In a solemn atmosphere, Hue City leaders affirmed that the sacrifice of the martyrs is a noble symbol of the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
On this occasion, Hue City continues to implement the "500-day and night campaign to search, repatriate and identify martyrs' remains", and at the same time take biological samples for DNA testing for unidentified graves.
Hue City leaders also expressed gratitude to the government and armed forces of Salavan and Sekong provinces and Team 192, Hue City Military Command for coordinating the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains.
