German tourist in distress while backpacking, more than 20 people cross the forest for emergency rescue
Da Nang - German tourist broke his leg on the mountain and texted for help, immediately more than 20 people crossed the forest to rescue him.
A German tourist traveling on a motorbike alone unfortunately had an accident and broke his leg in the Hoc Chanh mountain area (Duy Xuyen commune, Da Nang). After texting for help with GPS, functional forces immediately rushed through the forest to rescue and bring the victim down the mountain safely.
On the afternoon of June 23, Mr. Baldus Kimi Marwin (21 years old, German nationality) while traveling on a motorbike alone in the Hoc Chanh mountain area, An Thanh village, Duy Xuyen commune, unfortunately had an accident leading to a broken leg.
In the midst of a rugged hilly area, unable to speak Vietnamese, the male tourist fell into a state of panic. He promptly sent the positioning device to the motel owner where he stayed to ask for support.
Upon receiving the news, more than 20 officers and soldiers of Duy Xuyen Commune Police, along with forces protecting security and order at the grassroots level, commune military, commune health, village authorities and An Thanh people, immediately set off to approach the scene.
Under the harsh sun, steep mountain terrain, approaching the victim was difficult. However, thanks to rapid coordination, the rescue force found Mr. Kimi, gave initial first aid and brought the victim down the mountain safely.
After that, the tourist was transferred to the hospital for treatment. Currently, his health has stabilized.
“When I encountered the accident, I was very scared because I didn't know where I was and couldn't communicate in Vietnamese. When I saw people coming to rescue me, I was really touched. I thank the functional forces and the people of Duy Xuyen very much. Vietnam is a safe and humane country” - Mr. Baldus Kimi Marwin shared after being supported.
The incident shows the proactiveness and timeliness of local forces in handling emergencies, and at the same time leaves a beautiful image of the safety, friendliness and humanity of the locality in the eyes of international tourists.
