Football tournament in response to Workers' Month at Apache Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd

On the afternoon of May 8, at Long Giang Industrial Park (Tan Phuoc 3 commune, Dong Thap province), the grassroots Trade Union of Apache Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. organized the launching ceremony of "Workers' Month - Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health" in 2026 associated with the opening of the Men's and Women's Football Tournament for union members, workers, and laborers.

Attending were Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui - Chairwoman of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks and Economic Zones of Dong Thap; Mr. Chen Wei Hua - General Director of Apache Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd.; Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Han - Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union of Apache Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. and nearly 200 union members, workers, and laborers participating.

According to the grassroots Trade Union of Apache Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd., Workers' Month is not only an annual activity but also an opportunity for the Trade Union organization to care for and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of workers, creating motivation for workers to feel secure in working and production.

In the first quarter of 2026, many activities to care for union members and workers have been practically implemented by businesses and trade unions. Notably, the program "Tet reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" attracted more than 5,000 union members and workers to participate; awarded more than 8,000 Tet gifts with a total budget of nearly 2 billion VND; organized visits to union members in difficult circumstances.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Han - Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union of Apache Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. said that the program "Workers' Month - Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health" is a practical activity to care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; and at the same time raise awareness and responsibility of businesses and workers in building a safe and healthy working environment.

According to Ms. Han, cultural and sports activities such as football tournaments contribute to strengthening exchanges and solidarity between union members and employees in enterprises.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented 91 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances who suffered labor accidents. In which, the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation supported 26 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, along with necessities; The company's grassroots trade union presented 65 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the Men's and Women's Football Tournament officially opened with the participation of 15 teams from factories in the company. Teams draw lots to divide groups, play in a round-robin format to select excellent teams to enter the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. It is expected that the final match, closing ceremony and award ceremony will take place on May 21, 2026.
