Over 3,000 coal industry workers have social housing needs

Quang Ninh - TKV Trade Union has surveyed workers in the coal industry who have a need to buy social housing of over 3,000 people, mainly concentrated in the province.

The Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV) has just coordinated with a social housing project development unit in Quang Ninh province to organize a social housing purchase consulting program for TKV employees.

At the study and consulting session on social housing, there were over 300 trade union members who are workers at coal industry enterprises, such as: Hon Gai Coal, Ha Lam, Nui Beo, Ha Tu, Vinacomin Inspection JSC and TKV College...

Vice Chairman of TKV Trade Union - Mr. Nguyen Trung Hieu - said that based on the survey of TKV Trade Union on social housing needs, currently in TKV, the demand for social housing is over 3,000 people. In Ha Long area, it is nearly 1,000 people. Therefore, TKV Trade Union has coordinated with the project development unit to organize counseling sessions for workers to soon access social housing, this is also the policy of the Party, State as well as TKV for workers who have needs and conditions to buy social housing to have better accommodation with the goal of having more workers buying social housing.

Representatives of Toan Cau Financial Investment Consulting JSC and Ngan Ha Quang Ninh JSC also informed employees of TKV units about the GHOMES VISTA social housing project (Ha Tu ward, Quang Ninh province) - expected to be handed over in the fourth quarter of 2028. The project has a scale of 602 social housing apartments with 3 types of apartments: 1 bedroom (59 apartments), 2 bedrooms (485 apartments) and 3 bedrooms (58 apartments), the project location is easily connected to areas such as Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Public Administration Service Center, Tran Quoc Toan Primary and Secondary School, Provincial General Hospital...

Representatives of TKV Trade Union proposed: Trade unions of units and workers participating in the program should share and widely disseminate information at units about regulations, standards, conditions for buying social housing, and procedures for registering applications for workers who need to buy social housing, so that employees have conditions to settle down, feel secure in their work, and be attached to the enterprise, the coal industry, and Quang Ninh province.
