Lam Dong pays attention to building social housing for thousands of workers
Lam Dong - The early completion of social housing projects aims to realize the housing needs of workers and enhance investment attraction.
Since the beginning of 2026, Lam Dong province has attracted more non-budget investment projects, and at the same time adjusted investment policies for a series of projects. Specifically in industrial parks (IPs), the locality continues to call for 5 new projects.
The increase in investment leads to a large demand for labor, especially in industrial parks. However, most workers still have to rent rooms in nearby residential areas with limited living conditions, high costs, and long travel.

Mr. Tran Duy Thanh - Chairman of the Trade Union of Ham Kiem commune (where there are 2 IPs) - said that many workers want to buy preferential social housing to stabilize their lives. This is also a common recommendation at voter meetings.
Ms. Le Thi Diem Diem - union member of Right Rich International Co., Ltd. (Ham Kiem II Industrial Park) - shared that the need for social housing is a common desire of workers.
If they have a house near their workplace, the price is reasonable, and they can get preferential loans, workers will be more assured, without worrying about increased rent or difficult travel," she said.

According to the Lam Dong Department of Construction, in 2026, the province aims to develop nearly 1,900 social housing units, and many projects are being accelerated.
Specifically, the social housing project in Ham Kiem I Industrial Park with a scale of more than 1,000 units has been partially completed, expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027.
The worker housing project of Ham Kiem II Industrial Park with a scale of more than 5,500 units has completed more than 300 units, the remaining part is under construction and is expected to start construction of apartment blocks in the third quarter of 2026.

Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested investors to proactively allocate resources, accelerate progress, and ensure completion as committed. The province is also developing a roadmap for social housing development in the period 2027–2030 on a large scale.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi assigned the Department of Construction to review the land fund, compile a list of suitable locations and adjust the Housing Development Program for the period 2021–2030.
The development of social housing not only meets the housing needs of workers but also contributes to stabilizing the labor force and enhancing investment attraction.
