Strongly spread the spirit of Workers' Month 2026

Attending the program were Mr. Le Minh Tri - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Home Affairs, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Action Month on OSH; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.

The ceremony also had the participation of: Mr. Nguyen Manh Khuong - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Action Month on OSH; Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Action Month on OSH; members of the Steering Committee, representatives of the International Labor Organization Office in Vietnam, World Health Organization in Vietnam. On the local leaders' side were Mr. Quan Minh Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ninh province; Bui Van Khang - Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee.

Towards a safe, humane, and modern production

Speaking at the Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026, Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Home Affairs, Head of the Central Steering Committee for Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health - said that caring for, improving and comprehensively enhancing the material and spiritual life of the people; implementing Occupational Safety and Health policies and laws always receives special attention from the entire political system.

In 2025, despite facing many difficulties, OSH work achieved many positive results thanks to the efforts of the political system, businesses and workers.

With the determination to effectively control labor accidents and occupational diseases, not to be negligent or subjective; protect human resources, towards a safe, humane, and modern production, the Government launched the Action Month on OSH 2026 with the theme "Innovating management and improving the effectiveness of OSH work in the digital age".

The Action Month on OSH is not just a launching event, but must become a strong driving force for innovation in the awareness and actions of each agency, unit, enterprise and each worker. I believe that, with high political determination and the consensus of the whole society, OSH work will have a strong shift, making practical contributions to the country's rapid and sustainable development goals" - Mr. Do Thanh Binh emphasized.

Promoting the innovation movement

Also at the ceremony, the VGCL launched Workers' Month 2026 with the theme "Vietnamese Workers: Innovation, improving labor productivity" with key activities: Promoting the "May Dialogue" program and the Forum "Union members contribute ideas to build Vietnam Trade Unions in the new era"; organizing the "Labor Skills - Sustainable Employment" Day, to equip and improve professional skills, adapt to the labor market in the context of digital transformation and deep integration.

Trade union levels promote the movement of innovation and creativity, promote initiatives, technical improvements, and application of technology; organize the peak month of union member development, establish grassroots trade unions, and introduce outstanding trade union members for Party training and admission. Through the above activities, Workers' Month 2026 will continue to strongly spread the spirit of innovation and creativity, arousing the aspiration to contribute in each worker, making positive contributions to the country's double-digit growth goal.

Representing the enterprise, Mr. Nguyen Huy Nam - Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV) - informed that during the Action Month on OSH - Workers' Month 2026, TKV identified the core objective as: "Minimizing fatal labor accidents and preventing type I technical incidents". In which, TKV organized the Launching Ceremony of the Group-level OSH Action Month at all affiliated units; strengthened specialized and unscheduled inspections in shifts 2 and 3 at underground, open-pit production units and mineral processing plants; launched the movement "Each production team is a safe fortress", linking safety responsibility with income and emulation and commendation.

Excitedly attending the launching ceremony, Mr. Do Minh Tuan, an official of Quang Ninh Center for Disease Control, shared the work of examining and detecting occupational diseases for workers, especially in the coal industry. He hopes that workers will comply with labor safety regulations to minimize losses. He also hopes that practical activities in Workers' Month and Occupational Safety and Health Action Month will improve working conditions and improve the lives of workers. On this occasion, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor honored 8 collectives and 2 individuals; Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee rewarded 6 collectives and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Occupational Safety and Health emulation movement in 2025.
