Vinh Long Trade Union supports housing for workers in difficult circumstances during Workers' Month
Vinh Long - The Provincial Trade Union is implementing many activities to care for, give gifts, and support housing for union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
According to a report from the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation, from April 20-25, trade union levels in the province deployed many practical activities, towards union members and workers.
During the week, the Standing Committee and the Standing Board of the Provincial Labor Federation participated in many important conferences, attended socio-political activities and employee conferences at the grassroots level.
Notably, the Provincial Labor Federation organized the Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month and responded to the Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2026 with the participation of about 900 union members and workers. At the program, 300 gifts were presented to union members who are Khmer ethnic people with a total budget of 150 million VND; and at the same time supported 7 "Great Unity" houses for workers in difficult housing circumstances.
On the occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Provincial Labor Federation awarded 20 scholarships to children of workers in Tra Con commune, with a total value of 10 million VND, raising the total number of scholarships awarded in the "Military - People's Tet" series to 80 scholarships.
Inspection work was strengthened when the Provincial Labor Federation Inspection Committee conducted inspections of the compliance with Trade Union Charter, financial management, and assets at 7 grassroots trade unions.
In addition, many plans and programs in Workers' Month are being implemented such as dialogues with workers, commending typical worker families, organizing "Trade Union Meals", "Thank you workers". Trade union levels also promote propaganda, develop union members, and collect opinions on the draft Report of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress.
At the grassroots level, response activities take place sôi nổi such as sports festivals, health check-ups, occupational disease screening, folk contests... contributing to caring for the material and spiritual life of workers.
Currently, Vinh Long province has 3 commune and ward trade unions; 630 grassroots trade unions and professional unions with 174,867 union members out of a total of 188,040 workers.
