Hai Phong improves the quality of life of workers far from home
Hai Phong City currently has more than 98,000 out-of-province workers working in industrial parks, accounting for about 32.9% of the total number of workers in this area.
Statistics from the Trade Union Board of Industrial Parks of Hai Phong City Labor Federation, the total number of out-of-province workers currently working in industrial parks is 98,456 people, accounting for about 32.9% of the total number of workers. Among these, there are 80,367 workers renting rooms, equivalent to 26.9% of the total number of workers in industrial parks; 13,605 workers have a need for social housing (buying or renting).
According to a report by Hai Phong City People's Committee, the city has been, is and is about to implement 65 social housing projects with a total scale of about 80,028 units. Many social housing projects and worker housing areas are being accelerated to meet the housing needs of tens of thousands of workers.
Including social housing projects in Dong Hai ward with a population of about 12,000 people, social housing project (phase 1) in Hai An ward, belonging to Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone (a population of about 9,500 people); social housing project in An Duong area expected to meet the housing needs of about 12,000 people... The project to invest in building a functional service area in Dai An expanded industrial park (housing for workers and experts) is being implemented with 7 rows of 10-story buildings totaling 1,074 units for workers to rent... Businesses are also applying many policies to support workers. According to statistics, the average housing rental support level is estimated at 386,000 VND, while the travel support level is about 460,000 VND. In East Hai Phong, the housing rental support level is estimated at 396,000 VND, while in West Hai Phong it is about 375,923 VND.
Along with concern and support for housing, the city focuses on improving the spiritual life of union members and workers from other provinces. City trade union levels maintain the operation of 24 Culture - Sports Clusters for workers, civil servants and laborers, install and effectively put into use more than 100 trade union physical training points in areas with a large number of workers. It is expected that in 2026, investment in installing a free wireless internet access system will be expanded to more than 100 worker dormitories in the city.
