Grassroots trade union awards scholarships to union members' children at the beginning of the new school year

On September 3, Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Tham - Chairwoman of Ham Thang Ward Trade Union, Lam Dong province, said that the grassroots Trade Union of Rang Dong Joint Stock Company has just coordinated with businesses to award 50 scholarships to children of union members and workers with good academic achievements.

The total value of scholarships is 46,250,000 VND, to encourage union members' children to continue to strive in their studies.

For elementary school students, each student is given a gift box containing 10 notebooks and a writing box, worth 180,000 VND. Excellent secondary school students are awarded cash scholarships of 1 million VND.

For students who achieve the title of excellent student at the high school level and who pass the university entrance exam, each scholarship is worth 3 million VND in cash.

This activity is organized annually by the grassroots Trade Union of Rang Dong Joint Stock Company in coordination with the enterprise at the time when union member and employee families prepare for the new school year.

Gifts and scholarships not only support a part of the tuition fees but are also spiritual encouragement for the children.

Over the past time, in addition to caring for the lives and rights of union members and workers, grassroots trade unions have also paid attention to union members' children through practical activities such as awarding scholarships and giving gifts at the beginning of the school year. Thereby, adding motivation for children to study well, and at the same time helping union members feel more secure and attached to their work.
