Lang Son Trade Union is close to grassroots levels, taking better care of union members

Ms. Be Thi Hoa - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Labor Federation assessed that the Provincial Labor Federation has proactively assigned officials to "be on duty" in key areas. Thanks to that closeness, union member development work has recorded positive signals.

From 2025 to now, the whole province has newly established 12 grassroots trade unions in the non-state sector and 1 grassroots trade union, admitting an additional 1,238 union members. This is an important premise for the Trade Union organization to perform its function of representing and protecting employees well.

On the occasion of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, the Lang Son Provincial Labor Federation visited and wished Tet to 29 units and businesses; supported more than 3,300 turns of union members in difficult circumstances with a total budget of more than 10 billion VND.

Receiving gifts from the Trade Union organization, Ms. Duong Thu Van - a worker at Na Duong Thermal Power Company - TKV - emotionally said that timely care helps workers in difficult circumstances feel warmer, feel secure in their commitment and strive to work and produce.

In parallel with care activities, the role of representing and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights of workers is increasingly affirmed. On average, every year, over 90% of businesses organize negotiations and sign collective labor agreements.

From 2025 to now, more than 80 dialogues (periodic and unscheduled) have been organized; more than 300 turns of workers have received free legal advice on severance allowances, insurance regimes, occupational accidents...

At Vicmet Metallurgy Technology Co., Ltd. Vietnam (Huu Lung commune), Mr. Hua Tien Quang - Chairman of the company's grassroots trade union - said that thanks to proactively organizing employee conferences and regular dialogues, all problems are resolved in a timely manner. Currently, 100% of employees at the company participate in social insurance, enjoy meals worth 25,000 VND/person, and average income is stable at 7.5 million VND/person/month.

Practice in Lang Son shows that where the Trade Union organization operates closely and effectively, labor relations are stable, and there are no illegal strikes or collective work stoppages.

Shortening the gap between provincial-level trade unions and grassroots levels helps movements become more practical, meet the needs of union members, contribute to building harmonious labor relations and promoting sustainable business development.
