Dong Thap - The province solemnly held a ceremony to send more than 200 workers to Korea for seasonal work in 2026.

On May 5, in Cao Lanh ward, the Dong Thap Provincial Employment Service Center held a ceremony to send 206 workers to Korea for seasonal work. This is the 3rd phase, and also the last phase in the province's plan to send workers to work in Korea in 2026.

Previously, in March and April, Dong Thap successively sent 280 and 284 workers abroad, bringing the total number of workers going to Korea this year to nearly 770 people. This result shows that the scale of the program continues to grow strongly, increasing by nearly 40% compared to 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Phu Hieu - Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Employment Service Center - said that the results achieved were the synchronous coordination of the entire political system, from the policy of the Provincial Party Committee, the support policy of the Provincial People's Council, the direction of the Provincial People's Committee to the advisory role of the Department of Home Affairs and the involvement of local authorities. In particular, the labor recruitment work is increasingly improving in quality, implemented closely through physical fitness checks, knowledge and interviews.

Out of a total of 1,479 registered workers, 768 were selected by the Korean side. The cases that did not meet the requirements are mainly due to not meeting health requirements, personal conditions or limiting targets.

At the send-off ceremony, the Center's leaders presented Khan ran - a typical cultural symbol of Dong Thap - to the workers as a message: no matter where you work, always remember your homeland, preserve the image of hardworking, disciplined and responsible Dong Thap workers.

Representatives of localities also sent many gifts to encourage the spirit of workers before leaving the country.

Leaders of the Provincial Employment Service Center requested employees to quickly adapt to the new working environment, strictly comply with contracts, unite to support each other and complete their work well.

At the same time, localities need to continue to pay attention to and visit workers' families, promptly encourage and remind them to limit arising violations.

It is expected that in the near future, the Korean side will continue to consider adding about 30 workers from Dong Thap to leave the country in June and July.

This shows the increasingly strengthened trust from international partners in the quality of the province's labor force.

The program to send workers to work seasonally in Korea has been implemented since 2018 on the basis of cooperation between Dong Thap province and two localities of Korea, Cheorwon and Yeoncheon districts. After 8 years of implementation, the program has brought practical efficiency, especially creating job opportunities, increasing income for rural workers, especially older workers, contributing to improving family life.
