Vehicles flock to Ho Chi Minh City after the April 30 holiday, congestion extends both expressways through Dong Nai
Dong Nai - Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway were congested on the afternoon of May 3.
According to the reporter's records, from around 2:00 p.m. on May 3, the number of vehicles from the Central provinces began to rush towards Dong Nai - Ho Chi Minh City, on Long Thanh bridge (Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway), the congestion lasted for many kilometers due to small collisions on the expressway, causing congestion in many sections.
Traffic police were present to regulate traffic at the intersection between National Highway 51 and the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway (Long Thanh District). Vehicles are required to continue on National Highway 51 instead of changing direction to the highway to limit prolonged congestion on the highway.
Similarly, the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway (in Dong Nai province) in the direction from Binh Thuan province to Dong Nai province also experienced congestion on the afternoon of May 3.
The authorities have requested vehicles to move from the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway to National Highway 1, National Highway 56 to continue their journey to Ho Chi Minh City.
According to information provided by local residents, at around 5:00 p.m. on May 3, at the intersection between Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway and National Highway 56 (to Cam My District, Long Khanh City), vehicles were reopened, allowing traffic to enter the expressway.
