Vietnam - China launch railway cooperation mechanism
The launching ceremony of the Vietnam - China railway cooperation mechanism took place on the morning of April 15 at the International Convention Center, Hanoi.
On the morning of April 15, General Secretary To Lam; Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping attended the launching ceremony of the Vietnam - China railway cooperation mechanism.
The activity took place within the framework of the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping from April 14 to 15.
Previously, on the afternoon of April 14, during talks between General Secretary To Lam and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, the two sides agreed to strengthen substantive cooperation in various fields, and establish a Railway Cooperation Committee between the two Governments to promote railway cooperation.
General Secretary To Lam suggested that the two sides promote strategic transport infrastructure connections, provide the best incentives for preferential loans, technology transfer and human resource training, and make the highest efforts in implementation to ensure the progress of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project.

Railway cooperation was also the topic of discussion during the meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and General Secretary and President Xi Jinping. The Prime Minister hopes that Vietnam and China will improve the quality and effectiveness of substantial cooperation in all fields, including giving high priority to railway cooperation, especially in credit, technology transfer and human resource training, and soon signing an ODA loan agreement to start construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong route in 2025 and then the Dong Dang - Hanoi, Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong railway lines.
General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping welcomed and highly appreciated the opinions of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on measures to strengthen relations between the two Parties and countries, hoping that the two sides will actively promote the railway cooperation mechanism between the two countries.
