New Quang Ninh administrative center will have a 100,000-person square

The planning of Quang Ninh province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 80/QD-TTg dated February 11, 2023, oriented to expand the urban development space of the old Ha Long City, taking Cua Luc Bay as the center for urban development connection according to the multipolar model, expanding the urban area to the North.

The old Ha Long City planning until 2040 was approved by the Prime Minister to orient the land fund for developing a provincial-level centralized administrative center in the area north of Cua Luc Bay, gradually moving administrative agencies into the inter-agencies area.

To concretize planning orientations, Quang Ninh province is focusing on implementing investment research for the new Administrative Center in Thong Nhat commune; at the same time, studying the expansion and upgrading of National Highway 279 and building Cua Luc 2 bridge to enhance infrastructure connectivity.

The new Administrative Center area is oriented to invest in becoming a model model for the whole country, associated with the large-scale Central Square, with a capacity of about 100,000 people, creating a highlight of architecture and modern urban space on the shore of Cua Luc Bay.

In a field survey this morning, Mr. Bui Van Khang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province - emphasized that the investment in the construction of the new Administrative Center of the province is of special importance, not only contributing to concretizing the approved planning orientations, but also creating momentum for the development of a modern, synchronous urban space, harmoniously connecting administration - services - ecological landscape of Cua Luc Bay area.

Mr. Khang requested relevant departments, branches and units to urgently review and complete the planning plan, ensuring comprehensiveness, long-termity, synchronization of technical infrastructure and social infrastructure; focusing on architectural factors, landscape, usage functions and traffic connection capability.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province also noted that the research and implementation process of the project must closely follow the provisions of the law, choose optimal, efficient, economical investment options, suitable for the potential and development orientation of the province. The goal is to build the new Administrative Center to become a new development symbol of Quang Ninh, meeting the requirements of administrative reform, digital transformation, serving people and businesses better and better, gradually forming a modern, civilized, model administrative center of the whole country.
