General Secretary To Lam chaired a press conference to announce the results of the 14th National Party Congress

On the afternoon of January 23, right after the closing session of the 14th National Congress of the Party, at the Congress Press Center, General Secretary To Lam chaired a press conference to announce the results of the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The 14th National Congress of the Party will take place from January 19 to January 23, 2026.

The theme of the Congress is "Under the glorious flag of the Party, join hands and unanimously successfully implement the country's development goals until 2030; strategic autonomy, self-reliance, confidence, and strong progress in the era of national growth for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, civilization, happiness, and steadfastly moving towards socialism".

With the motto of Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development, the Congress determined the thinking, vision, and strategic decisions to firmly move forward in the new era, successfully implementing the country's development goals until 2030 when our Party celebrates 100 years of establishment (1930-2030); realizing the development vision to 2045, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1945-2045).

The 14th Congress has a great historical mission, not only setting goals and orientations for the 2026-2030 term, but also deciding on strategic issues for the future and fate of our nation in the coming decades.

Thereby continuing to strongly arouse the desire for development, pride, the will to strengthen the nation, unleash all resources, all development motivations, promote the strength of the people and the great national unity bloc combined with the strength of the times, comprehensively and synchronously promote the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland, successfully complete the goal of developing a strong country, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as the wish of President Ho Chi Minh and the aspirations of our entire nation.

On the afternoon of January 22, the Congress voted to elect the 14th Party Central Committee, electing 200 members, including 180 official members and 20 absent members.

On the morning of January 23, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the 14th Party Central Committee held its first conference to decide on particularly important issues, marking the beginning of the new term.

The first conference of the 14th Party Central Committee completed the following particularly important contents:

(1) Elect the Politburo.

(2) Elect the General Secretary.

(3) Electing the Secretariat.

(4) Listen to reports on the plan for key leadership positions of the Party and State and give opinions on personnel holding the position of Standing member of the Secretariat.

(5) Elected the Central Inspection Committee.

(6) Elected Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee.

The 14th Party Central Committee unanimously elected Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the 13th Party Central Committee, to continue to hold the position of General Secretary of the 14th Party Central Committee.
