General Secretary meets with veteran revolutionary cadres and meritorious people
General Secretary To Lam had a meeting with revolutionary veteran cadres, meritorious people, and exemplary policy families on the afternoon of April 15.

Accordingly, at the Ministry of National Defense's Hall, General Secretary To Lam and leaders of the Party and State had a meeting with revolutionary veterans, meritorious people, and exemplary policy families.
Co-chairing the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
This event was jointly organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, the Central Party Office and Hanoi City.
This is one of the activities on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The meeting opened with an art program with the theme "A land full of joy".


Before this activity, General Secretary To Lam and Party and State leaders had meetings with police officers of the Southern battlefield; met with representatives of veterans, youth volunteers, and militia who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country.

More than half a century ago, at exactly 11:30 a.m. on April 30, 1975, our army entered Saigon and occupied the Doc Lap Palace. The General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975 with the pinnacle being the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign to completely liberate and unify the South and the country has opened a new era for the Vietnamese people - the era of independence, unity and socialism.
The great victory of the spring of 1975 was not only a victory of great military stature but also a brilliant symbol of patriotism, of steadfast, indomitable will and burning desire for freedom and peace of the Vietnamese people. It is a victory of justice, of national pride, an event of profound influence in the international arena, attracting the attention and evaluation of many countries and international organizations.
Each step forward of our army and people in that historic battle resounded like an immortal song, affirming the unshakable strength, will and belief of the Vietnamese people.
On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), many key commemorative activities were held, attracting the attention of the people.
